UMES bowling to host one-day youth camp
PRINCESS ANNE, MD—The
University of Maryland Eastern Shore women’s bowling team will team up
this month with the WeeHawk Kid’s Club to offer the UMES WeeHawks Bowling Camp June 24 in the
Sharon D. Brummell Lanes in the Student Services Center on campus.
The one-day camp will offer school age children entering
grades three through nine the chance to learn bowling instruction from the UMES
Lady Hawk Bowlers and head coach and former College Bowler of the Year, Kayla
Bandy. They will also have outdoor
activities, take look at how a bowling center works, make a bowling craft and have
lunch and a snack.
“I’m really excited to offer this chance to the children of
our faculty, staff and community,” said Bandy.
“It encourages education in the sport of bowling, will be a lot of fun
and it benefits the university.”
The cost is $15 for current WeeHawks and $35 for
non-members. The latter price includes a
12-month membership in the WeeHawks Kid’s Club.
Enrollment is limited to the first 30 paid registrants.
