The Art Shell UMES Celebrity Golf Classic will be held June 11 at Great Hope Golf Course in Westover, Md. The Junior Workshops & Tournament will be held June 9 & 10 at UMES' beautiful campus and Great Hope Golf Course. What a wonderful way of introducing young golfers to the professional world of golf and enhancing their skills and passion for the game.
UMES is one of 19 colleges in the nation with the PGA-accredited Golf Management major and the only one at a historically black institution. We aspire to be a premiere golf management program that upholds the traditions and highest standards of the PGA of America, while being at the forefront of producing leaders who will expand the involvement of women and minorities within the game. Through our distinctive program, our Class A PGA graduates may pursue a variety of careers in the golf and hospitality industries. Additionally, the university’s Division I Golf Program serves as an additional training ground for aspiring competitive golfers to hone their skills.
