Winners of the 2010 High School Art Contest
PRINCESS ANNE, MD – May 28, 2010-Three Lower Shore students earned $100 in art supplies by showing-off their skills using colorful pastels, pencils and a camera in this year’s High School Art Contest at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
“We had about 45 entries and are very excited about the high-quality of artwork,” said Dr. Van Wagenberg, director of the Mosely Gallery, who coordinated UMES’ first high school art competition in 2008. “Overall, we’re very impressed with the talent in the tri-county area.”
Awards were presented by Dennis Williams, Princess Anne town commissioner and patron of the arts, during a reception and open house at the Mosely Gallery.
The exhibition, made possible through the support of the Maryland State Arts Council and the Somerset County Arts Council, will be on display until June 11. For more information, call 410-651-7770 or visit www.umes.edu/mosely.
