Honors Student Association (HSA) 2013 - 2014

    All Honors Program students receive automatic membership in the HSA and access to its academic, co-curricular, service, and social programs. Officer elections occur annually in early Fall.

    With more than 200 members, the HSA is a vital contributor to the Honors Program, to the UMES campus, and beyond, through its advocacy of honors education, academic activity, and community outreach projects.

    HSA Officers 2013-2014

    Maryanne Odinakachukwu
      HSA_Maryanne The President provides overall leadership to the HSA officers and constituents, convenes executive meetings, meets regularly as the association's official liaison with Honors Program administration, and serves on the Honors Program Advisory Board as one of the student representatives.
    Ezechielle Kiessu
      HSA_Ezechielle The Vice-President facilitates the work of - and stands in for - the President, in cases of exceptional absence of the President. The VP also guarantees efficiency and continuity of HSA operations by coordinating room reservation requests and event scheduling for the subsequent academic year.

    Emily Diseroad
      HSA_Emily The Vice-President of Social Media posts announcements to the association's social media outlets - Facebook, Twitter, GroupMe, records and archives photos of HSA activity, and contributes one article per issue to the Program's newsletter, Volamus. 
    Jessica Parker
    Jessica_HSA The Secretary is in charge of maintaining attendance rolls throughout the year at all association meetings, prepares agenda and minutes of HSA meetings, communicates information to the VP of Social Media so that information can be disseminated to the association at-large, and serves on the Honors Program's Advisory Board as one of the student representatives.
    Courtney Rhoades
    Courtney_HSA The Treasurer is responsible for the financial aspects of the association, preparing and filing financial requests and reports, tracking deposits and expenditures, and overseeing ticket sales during fundraising and other events sponsored by the HSA.     
    Emily Tull
    Emily_HSA The Historian helps preserve the Honors Program's photo archives, promotional event information, and student narratives for posterity. S/he collaborates with the VP of Social Media to post items in various media.
