    Degree Seeking Undergraduate Applicants

    Admission to UMES is granted to those applicants whose academic qualifications indicate the potential for succeeding in college. The determination of this decision is the responsibility of the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.

    Decisions for admissions are made on a rolling basis throughout the year. The Office strives to notify prospective students of a decision within 3-4 weeks from receiving complete application and required documents.


    Start Terms:


    Spring 2021: Classes begin in January 2021; this start time is applicable to:

    I graduated high school in May or June 2020

    I graduated high school prior to 2020

    I have earned a GED

    Priority deadline to apply November 1, 2020


    Fall 2021: Classes begin in August 2021; this start time is applicable to:

    I will graduate high school in May or June 2021

    I graduated high school prior to May or June 2021

    I have earned a GED

    Priority deadline to apply: February 15, 2021


    Application Process:

    PLEASE SUBMIT ONE APPLICATION TOTAL.

    Submitting duplicate applications via different platforms may delay the decision process.

    Non-Degree Seeking Undergraduate Applicants

    Applicants who do not desire to work towards a baccalaureate degree may be admitted as non-degree seeking, or special, students. These students may enroll in undergraduate courses for which they possess the necessary prerequisites, but may not enroll in courses restricted to degree seeking students only.

    Career & Technical Education Certificate, at BMI

    This program is designed for educators who plan to take courses at the undergraduate level Professional and Technical Education (PTE) certification or Work-Based Learning (WBL) endorsement.


    Submit the CTE Non-Degree Seeking Application.


    Dual-Enrollment Applicants

    Dual-Enrollment applicants are those who are currently enrolled in high school and desire to take courses to supplement their high school instruction.
