Criteria: Scholarship recipient must have demonstrated financial need, be traditionally disadvantaged (i.e -

The Donald Wilson & Flo Joyce Mabe Scholarship for International Students
Application Deadline: September 14, 2012

Award: Varies depending on funding available
Criteria: Scholarship recipient must 1) Be enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate program, 2) Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 as a UMES student, 3) Submit a written statement with this application explaining the unusual circumstance(s) with appropriate supporting documentation that has created unanticipated financial need, 4) Submit a completed, signed application prior to the published deadline of each academic year for the upcoming academic year. Applications must be returned to the Office of Student Financial Aid, 5) Demonstrate other qualities such as leadership and public service, 6) Applicants awarded a scholarship must agree to submit a thank you note to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement with a copy to the Director of Financial Aid.

Criteria: Scholarship recipient must be an incoming freshmen who is a resident of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's or Talbot counties. Award is based on a combination of academic merit and financial need as determined according to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Renewal is based on recipient maintaining a 2.5 cumulative GPA and financial need. Written letter of application outlining student qualifications and need for scholarship should be sent to the Director of Financial Aid.
