Dr. Ron McLean, Director – UMES Counseling Services is one of several higher education authors contributing a new book titled Letters to Friends: Wisdom Through Storytelling. The book addresses how counselors “tell their story” of spiritual development and implications for helping others. The book is an exciting read and is scheduled for completion summer of 2014. Additional information is forthcoming.
Dr. Stephanie Krah recently published an article in the January 2014 issue of Women in Higher Education. The article, on page 18, focuses on the value of perspective and how its use in everyday life can bring joy and critical understanding to how we approach issue. This is a good read. The Divisions of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs partnered to receive grant funding from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) to help student complete their undergraduate college degrees.

Student Affairs and Academic Affairs received grant funding from Morehouse College of Medicine to work with Behavioral Health Promotion and Awareness Among LGBTQ students
Jinawa McNeil in the UMES admissions and recruitment office recently was a guest of the Comcast “Newsmakers” public service announcement project.
