Brief History
Initially the group concentrated on the use of protective clothing as well as family laundering procedures for agricultural workers. With each subsequent five-year project, the initiatives have shifted to focus on other areas of protective clothing such as:
- evaluation of the barrier and comfort properties of fabrics used in protective clothing
- user satisfaction
- development of resources to inform users about personal protective equipment (PPE) to influence adoption and correct use
- study of additional types of protective clothing including chemical and wild-land firefighter protection
- study of sun protection for agricultural workers and the general public
