Preparing to Quit
It’s not too early to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions.
In recognition of New Year’s resolutions to give up smoking, DHMH’s Center for Tobacco Use Prevention and Control is offering a free Webinar, “Preparing to Quit” to offer quit tips to state employees. The webinar will be held on Thursday December 20th at noon. Register at https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/447046954. See flyer attached for more information (click here).
The New Year is a perfect time to prepare for new and healthier beginnings. Set goals and make them public so that you can get support and encouragement from friends and family. Many smokers use the New Year’s holiday as motivation to quit – for some, this may be the first time you’ve tried to quit; others may have tried before. Regardless, this may be the most important resolution a soon-to-be-former-smoker ever makes!
Join the webinar for yourself or a loved one and see the many FREE services available through the Maryland Tobacco Quitline including the new web based program, Web Coach, and text support program, Text2Quit. Free help is also available by calling the Maryland Tobacco Quitline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (find out more at www.SmokingStopsHere.com). Quit Coaches are available to speak with you personally seven days a week, 24 hours a day!
Make 2013 your year to quit!
