Please join the Frederick Douglass Library for the grand opening of the new exhibit "UMES Alumnae of Distinction: From Our Founding Programs Forward" on Monday September 13 at 7:00 pm on the 2nd floor of the library.  A reception follows the opening.  Click Here for more information about the new exhibit.

  • 24 - Please join the Frederick Douglass Library for the workshop "Researching and Preserving African-American History", presented by Kimberly Conway Dumpson, J.D., CFRE.  Workshop will be held April 24, 2010 from 3 - 6 pm.

  • 29 - Dr. Sims-Wood Speaks during Women's History Month Celebration

The Frederick Douglass Library will be hosting a stimulating program of historical significance on Monday, March 29, 2010, at our Auditorium from 7-9 pm.  The program is a presentation covering the early days of African American Women serving in the military and the challenges faced and overcome by them during that time. We are able to bring this presentation to you gratis, thanks to the Speaker’s Bureau of the Maryland Humanities Council.
