The University Writing Center is dedicated to providing the University community one-on-one assistance with all types of writing at all stages of the writing process.

With our online scheduling program, My Writing Center Online, you can check availability and schedule appointments in advance at the following URL:
You can also cancel or change appointments up to 2 hours before the appointment time. If you miss 3 scheduled appointments, you will be blocked from the online scheduling system and will have to make any future appointments face-to-face in the Writing Center.
The University Writing Center is staffed by a half-time Director, who has a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Linguistics, and part-time peer tutors from all majors, who are selected based on their strong writing and interpersonal skills and trained to assist students with writing issues across the disciplines.
Writing Center Services
We provide assistance with the following:
*writing assignments across the disciplines;
*any stage of the writing process:
pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, proofreading;
*English as a Second Language (ESL) writing;
*English Proficiency Exam (EPE) preparation;
*general writing skills:
*grammar / punctuation / mechanics skills.

Bring your writing projects at any stage of the writing process. In addition to a hard copy of the project, please bring the class assignment on which it is based. If you would like to work on it in the Writing Center, you may also bring a Microsoft Word file on a jump drive.
NOTE: The Writing Center tutors will help you and provide you with skills to do your own writing, revising, and editing, but they should not and will not actually write, revise, or edit for you.
